  • Adaptive Filters for 1st Order PMD Compensation: Stage 1 - Training

Shows the application of an adaptive filter to compensate for signal distortion due to 1st order polarization mode dispersion (PMD). The adaptive filter uses the least-mean square (LMS) algorithm to minimise the mean-squared error between the desired (ideal) training signal and the filtered PMD-distorted received signal at its output.
