Receiver Electronics Modeling

1. VPItransmissionMaker™ and VPIcomponentMaker™ include hundreds of signal processing modules for the manipulation of electrical and digital signals.
2. These can be used together with the photonic modules to investigate both the electronic and optical aspects of communications systems, such as signal recovery and improvement using electrical signal processing.
3. This example shows a simulation of the electronic signal path of an optical receiver, using a resonator for clock recovery.
4. Alternatively, phase-locked loops can be simulated including the digital logic of the state-machine phase detector, and the voltage-controlled oscillator.
