Electronic PMD Equalization

1. Use our all-order PMD emulator with biasing and importance sampling to generate near-worst-case transmission fiber responses, or generate defined 1st and 2nd order PMD values using a multi-stage emulator.
2. Measure PMD metrics for the fiber and display as Stoke's vectors on an OSA or a Poincaré sphere.
3. Investigate electronic PMD compensation using a wide range of signal processing modules such as adaptive filters and multirate control schemes.
4. Devise signal monitoring and control loops around PMD compensation schemes, and evaluate the correlation between measurements such as FR tones, and actual PMD.
