Dual Pump L-band Raman Amplifier
VPIcomponentMaker™ Optical Amplifiers supports gain, noise figure and efficiency design issues of Raman, doped-fiber and waveguide, and hybrid amplifiers.
The same models can be incorporated into systems simulations, where they will process optical waveforms and include nonlinearities. VPI introduced bidirectional Raman amplifier modeling to systems simulation, allowing both bidirectional pump and bidirectional signal propagation.
All interactions between signals, noise and pumps are included into the simulation. Flexible input parameter formats allow for pump-wavelength scaling and OTDR-files to describe point/distributed loss and reflections including Rayleigh backscatter.
