Amplifier Span Length Optimization

  1. Our simulation controller contains flexible and intuitive tools for interactive tuning, multi-dimensional parameter sweeps, parameter optimization and yield estimation.
  2. Combining these tools under a single interface speeds the design process and avoids repetitive operations.
  3. This example shows an experiment to determine the maximum span length for a given amplifier design in a long-haul system.
  4. The right slider of the interactive simulator sets the number of spans manually; the left mimics the optimizer's attempts at finding the maximum span length that will support a given BER.
  5. Yield estimation can be used to investigate the effect of random parameter variations on the design.
