1. VPItransmissionMaker™ WDM can simulate complex long-haul WDM systems using efficient numerical techniques for fiber, amplifier and receiver modeling.
2. Mean-Field simulation (where most channels are represented by their statistics for FWM simulations) and statistical noise representations are fully supported, including automatic design and verification processes through interactive wizards.
3. Patented BER estimation techniques are used to consider arbitrary-colored noise in amplified WDM systems, going beyond Gaussian and Chi2 approximations.
4. A huge variety of performance metrics can be obtained, including amplitude and timing metrics, and post-processed using mathematical expressions and signal analysis modules.
